We have recently recieved notification from AT&T that there have been several "port scans" running from some of our users.
What this typically means is that someone on the system has a "worm" virus that is trying to infect other computers without the users knowledge.
These worms typically affect WindowsXP and Windows 2000.
Your system is vulnerable to these types of worms if you have not performed your Microsoft ® Windows Critical Updates. These are not email based viruses therefore our mail server cannot protect your system from them.
Please be aware that just because you may have a virus program running and its definitions may be up to date, you are still susceptable to these types of viruses.
If this problem is not remedied soon, it will be necessary for us to track down the particular users that have this virus. If it is determined that you have a virus and it is the causing some of the problems we are experiencing, a charge of $85.00 per hour will be billed to your account for network maintenance.

Some of the worm symptoms may be as follows:

1. Lack of system performance (locking up, slow getting into programs, etc . . .

2. Decreased connection speed to the internet.
3. You get disconnected from the internet, or your system tries to dial up to the internet without your assistance.
4. Your system shuts down on its own.
These are just a few of the known symptoms. Your system could be infected, even if you do not experience these symptoms.

Because the above updates / downloads can be very time consuming and labor intensive on dial up, we can perform these procedures in our office for a flat fee of just $45.00 .
